Our in-house caseworkers and licensed attorneys work together as one dedicated team, so you’re never coordinating between separate agencies and lawyers on your own. We work with all families, including single parents, unmarried couples, LGBTQ+ families, and families from all racial and religious backgrounds.
We take pride in our ability to match expectant mothers and adopting families quickly. Many of our matches happen within 12-18 months.

The cost to adopt a child varies depending on the type of adoption, the agency you work with, and the legal services involved. At A Baby Step Adoption, we’re upfront about costs from the start, with no surprises. We also provide resources to help families navigate financial assistance, including grants, loans, and adoption tax credits. You can explore some of these on our website, but we also work closely with our adoptive families to help them find the resources they need.
If you decide to work with us, we’ll make the adoption process as smooth as possible. We’ll help you complete your home study, get you approved to adopt, and add you to our list of waiting families so expectant mothers can find your profile. Once you’re matched, our team works with you and the birth mother to finalize the adoption plan and hospital arrangements. When your baby arrives, our in-house legal team handles the paperwork to finalize the adoption.
Yes. A Baby Step Adoption works with all types of families. Single parents, same-sex couples, unmarried partners, and families from all backgrounds are welcome to apply. Adoptive families must meet home study requirements, which vary by state, but our team will walk you through exactly what’s needed and help you prepare.
