Our process is designed to be clear, compassionate, and tailored to you. From your first conversation with us through matching and finalization, you’ll work with a dedicated caseworker who ensures you’re supported, informed, and never alone. We handle the legal steps in many states including Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and Maryland, so you can focus on building your family.
These adoption info sessions are free, and held virtually. You’ll get more details about the adoption process, including local adoption laws, A Baby Step Adoption policies, adoption timelines, adoption costs, and adoption requirements. View upcoming events.
Your caseworker will be here to support you during the adoption process and beyond, always available to answer questions, address concerns, and support you in any way they can. They can even assist with finding financial aid for a more affordable adoption process.
To ensure that your home is suitable for a child, we will conduct a home study and interview, as required by law. Learn more about our home study process.
Once your home study has been completed, you are ready to officially begin the adoption process. We’ll help you create a profile that shows birth mothers who you are and what kind of parent you will be.
Once you are chosen by a birth mother, you will have an opportunity to get to know them. This is the time to begin preparing for the arrival of your new family member.
After birth, there is typically a brief waiting period for the birth mother to affirm her decision, then the adoption will be finalized. Take your child home and enjoy your new family!
